Project Spotlight: 36x130 Steel Building in Miami, FL

Here's a look at a recent Duro Beam project in Miami, Florida: a 36' x 130' I-beam steel building going up on a tight urban site, right alongside an elevated roadway with high-rises in the background.

The Specs

• Size: 36' wide x 130' long (4,680 square feet)
• Eave height: 22'
• Roof pitch: 1.5/12
• Frame: Red iron I-beam
• Walls and roof: Vertical steel panels with contrasting blue trim

Built for Miami
South Florida is hurricane country, and Miami-Dade County has some of the strictest building requirements in the country. A building here can't be a standard design with a few upgrades. It has to be engineered for local conditions and code from the start. That's how every Duro Beam building is made: designed and manufactured to the code of the state and area it's delivered to.

Made for Real Work
This building was designed with working access in mind. Several large door openings run along the side wall, with a separate walk-in door, so vehicles and equipment can move in and out without everything funneling through one opening. The 22' eave height gives plenty of clearance inside, and the I-beam frame keeps the floor open instead of filled with support columns.

A Low-Profile Roof
At 1.5/12, the roof rises just 1.5 inches for every 12 inches across. It's a gentle slope that gives the building a clean, low profile.

Ready to Assemble
Like every Duro Beam building, the pieces arrive pre-cut, pre-punched, and pre-drilled, ready to bolt together on site. On a job like this one, with limited room to work, that keeps the build straightforward.
