Lean-To Additions: Add Space Without Starting Over

Outgrew your building? You don't always need a whole new one. A lean-to is a simple add-on that attaches to the side of a steel building and gives you more covered space for less.

What Is a Lean-To?

A lean-to is an extension with a roof that slopes in one direction, attached to the wall of the main building. It can be open on the sides for easy access, or enclosed like the rest of the building.

What People Use Them For

• Covered parking for trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Extra storage for materials and supplies
• Open-air work areas
• Livestock and horse shelter

Why Add One

• More space, lower cost. Adding on usually costs less than building a second structure.
• Keeps things dry. Equipment and materials stay protected from sun, rain, and snow.
• Easy access. An open side means no doors to open when you need to pull something in or out.

Plan Ahead

If you think you'll want a lean-to someday, tell us when you order. The main building can be designed to accept it, which makes the addition simpler later.

Every Duro Beam building is engineered to code for where it's delivered and arrives pre-cut, pre-punched, and ready to bolt together.
